Howard County Preschool

We focus on balance of play and formal opportunities for learning.

Our Howard County preschool center is approved as a non-public educational program. We exceed Maryland State Department of Education’s requirements for facilitating growth in all domains of early childhood development.

Play-based learning has been found to be one of the most effective ways to help children develop new skills and competency. One of the greatest benefits of playing is to assist with the development of social competence. Children can build relationships, learn to resolve conflicts, and negotiate and regulate their behaviors. In play, children usually have increased feelings of success, optimism, and independence as they problem solve and make their own choices.

Play helps to develop curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration, and creativity. All of these characteristics greatly contribute to a child's ability to learn. Here at Your Journey Nursery and Preschool, children have ample opportunity to learn using their own devices and their innate desire to play !

In addition, we understand the value of tailoring programs to the needs of individual children. For that reason, we incorporate curriculum for all ages and stages of development. Our Howard County location is right outside of Columbia & Ellicott City, MD.
